MobileXpression is a set-it-and-forget-it app that allows you to earn ‘income’ passively, but are there any downsides to consider? Our MobileXpression app review aims to find out.
Business success can be attributed to one integral factor: mastering your consumer’s behavior. This is why market research apps like MobileXpression exist: to measure consumer behavior as they work silently in the background, taking note of when you’re online, what websites you access, and how long you access them.
When harnessed by brands, this data collected can be a powerful tool to influence the development of better strategies, products, and services. Fortunately for participants, there are benefits to reap as well.
MobileXpression offers gift cards to anyone willing to install their app on their mobile phones. It could be a great opportunity to earn passively – with a few caveats.
Our MobileXpression app review gives you the lowdown on this market research app, how it works, how to sign up, and the potential privacy concerns associated with installing a behavior-tracking app on our phone.

What is MobileXpression?
MobileXpression is a market research panel designed to “understand the trends and behaviors of people using the mobile internet.” The goal is to determine what websites people visit and what mobile applications they like to use.
The app is operated by Comscore, Inc., a digital marketing research company located in Virginia, United States. Comscore is listed on both SCOR and NASDAQ.
How MobileXpression works
The goal of MobileXpression is to measure the trends and patterns that affect internet use in mobile phones.
While television utilizes ratings to determine which channels and shows are most-watched and highest-rated, the platform observes its member’s mobile internet habits to find out the importance and popularity of applications and websites.
Data collected will then be used by companies to direct their mobile marketing strategies.
The MobileXpression website
Upon conducting a MobileXpression app review, we inspected the website to see what we can learn about the service. The website itself is bare, with very little information displayed on the landing page. You’ll see a sign-up form and log-in options for existing members.
While the home page is nondescript, the FAQ section, license, and privacy pages offer a lot of content. We advise aspiring members to read all these before participating.
These pages offer visitors a wealth of information about how their data is being protected and used, with an expansive list of questions about how to use the service and troubleshooting.
The “Benefits” page, however, is disappointing. Sorely lacking in information about how participants will be rewarded, MobileXpression does a poor job in indicating how panel members generate credits and how to claim rewards.
Our MobileXpression app review will tell you how you’ll rack up credits with the platform and how to claim them for gift certificates.
Who can join the app?
Usability is limited to residents of Canada and the United States online. Anyone who is at least 18 years old with a mobile phone can join MobileXpression, as long as they have a device that can access the internet and is capable of installing the MobileXpression software.
What data does MobileXpression collect?
Our MobileXpression app review discovered that the platform observes a variety of consumer behaviors, including mobile data usage via an app or a VPN connection.
This includes mobile browsing activity, messaging services, usage and types of downloaded applications, camera usage, video streaming, and various other utilities.
MobileXpression will also gather information about the links you access, web pages you vide, and times of usage for device activities such as call lengths, text messaging, and web browsing.
How is the platform’s customer support?
In some instances, the FAQ page won’t cover everything you need, especially when it comes to troubleshooting technical problems. In this case, the only way to get in touch with the company is through a contact form available on their website. The website doesn’t have an address or a phone number listed.
The company’s social media pages are also relatively bare, so support is based mainly on their available contact form.
How to sign up for MobileXpression
Our MobileXpression app review found out that the signup process for the platform is straightforward. Here’s how to become a part of the market research panel:
- Visit the platform’s website. You’ll be tasked to fill out a short registration form that requires general information. This data is integral for the creation of your account profile. The platform requires your basic demographic information such as gender, age, and educational level. This information is used in statistical projections, and to better describe the type of people with different opinions and preferences about mobile communications.
- Download the MobileXpression app on your mobile phone via Google Play or the Apple App Store.
- To earn gift cards from the platform, you need to run the application on your phone constantly, even if you only connect to the internet occasionally.
Does it cost anything to participate?
There’s no cost to joining the MobileXpression panel, but do note that connecting to the internet may incur costs depending on your data plan.
Will downloading the app affect your phone’s performance?
The platform claims that for Android users, there is little to no impact on mobile performance even if the app is running constantly in the background. iPad and iPhone users, however, may encounter a small delay when connecting to the internet, but internet speed is not affected.
Our MobileXpression app review discovered the contrary. Upon reading reviews online, there have been numerous reports of the mobile app slowing down mobile data and causing slower internet speeds. Some users have even complained about not being able to access specific applications that require the internet.
With that said, this may be the platform’s significant flaw. Your biggest income stream is derived from installing the application in your mobile phone – a sacrifice you may have to consider when deciding to be a member of the MobileXpression panel.
How do I end my participation?
You can end your participation in MobileXpression anytime. Participation in the community is entirely voluntary and you can opt-out of your participation by simply following their uninstall instructions. Know, however, that whatever data collected by the platform will still be in their pool for as long as the company deems it useful.
MobileXpression has two main features, its behavior-measuring mobile app, and its surveys. Our MobileXpression app review takes a deep dive into both features and the benefits they offer for members of the panel.
The mobile app
The MobileXpression mobile app is where you’ll make most from as it offers gift cards by simply having the app installed on your phone. After installing the app, you’ll find an icon to tap that permits it to collect data from your mobile device. If you’re iffy about allowing the platform access to your internet behavior, there’s one more way to earn from MobileXpression.
On less frequent occasions, MobileXpression will send you surveys to fill out. Just like paid survey sites, you can complete these surveys and earn gift cards for each survey you complete.
If you’re not qualified for a survey, you’ll be notified while you’re answering so you don’t have to waste time answering surveys that won’t generate rewards.
Surveys are not MobileXpression’s strong point, so don’t expect to earn a lot as they only send these occasionally.

How do you earn with MobileXpression?
Installing the MobileXpression app on your phone will earn you “credits” – the platform’s main type of currency. These credits may then be redeemed for various rewards in their rewards catalog.
MobileXpression allows you to earn credits each week you have the app installed in your device. Immediately after your first week of use, you’ll be able to earn a $5 gift card of your choosing. The website offers a great selection of retailers to choose from.
Logging into the app will allow you to check your current credits. Naturally, the more you use the app, the more credits you’ll earn, and the more gift cards you can claim. This is a great way to earn passive income without having to worry about anything.
Members can exchange their credits for Amazon gift cards, participate in sweepstakes, or donate them to charity. There is no cash payout for MobileXpression, but the platform offers a plethora of perks that other paid market research sites do not. Here are some of the unique perks that panel members get:
- Upon using the app for a week, all USA members will receive a $5 Amazon gift card.
- Upon using the app for two weeks, UK members will receive £20 and India members will receive a 300 Rupee Jabong gift card.
- All new members are entered into a $100,000 sweepstakes. Each month, a lucky participant will receive $100 as well as a chance to win $2,500, $5,000, or re-entered into the sweepstakes.
- While this isn’t a direct reward to its members, the platform donates a tree to Trees for the Future after 90 days of active membership. Once your initial 90 days have passed, a tree will again be donated each month during your active membership.
Apart from these perks, MobileXpression hosts a physical prize giveaway every week. Here, all members get the chance to win a variety of gadgets and appliances. For example, in the past weeks, members had the chance to win an Apple iPad Air, a Canon digital camera, a Samsung LED HDTV and a KitchenAid cutlery set.
How safe is MobileXpression?
One of the biggest concerns people have over market research apps like MobileXpression is its capacity to infringe on privacy. Let’s face it, having your internet activity monitored constantly is concerning.
This brings to light a plethora of issues: will your credit card or banking information be compromised? What happens to the log of websites the company collects? Is sensitive information really protected?
So far, our MobileXpression app review did not discover any privacy complaints. The application only monitors the websites you visit, the mobile apps you use, and how long you spend on each one. It doesn’t yo track your activity within the webpage or app, nor does it keep any private or banking information.
Among those not collected also include the actual content of your emails, text, image files, downloads, instant messages, address book, calendar entries, or photos you take with your camera.
All user information gathered is collected in a large pool of data for better security. This makes it difficult for the platform to differentiate the data collected. MobileXpression has gone through a series of safety and privacy regulations implemented by the application store.
Pros of MobileXpression
- Easy sign-up
- A great way to earn passive income
- A robust rewards program with plenty of chances to participate in sweepstakes
Cons of MobileXpression
- While it claims to be safe, giving out your internet activity should still be a cause for concern
- No cash-out option. If you’re looking to earn real cash as a side hustle, MobileXpression may not be the best choice.
- May slow your mobile internet usage
- Low survey frequency. If earning through answering paid surveys is your goal, you may be better off participating in other paid survey sites like InboxDollars, Survey Junkie, or Swagbucks.

Is MobileXpression legit?
Is MobileXpression a scam? MobileXpression is definitely a legitimate way to earn online and generate passive “income” for regular mobile internet users. The platform has a 4.0 rating on the Google Playstore. The service it offers, however, comes with a couple of caveats.
For starters, whatever data the platform collects will remain in its pool for an indefinite period of time. While history has proven that MobileXpression is trustworthy, no one knows what will happen to your information in the unforeseeable future.
Second, the quality of your mobile internet usage may be an issue. If you’re okay with your internet connection being affected, then the platform is worth a try.
